Bobbin Table Lamp
Based on a 17th century decorative technique, these lamps are made up of a series of beads and coves flowing from the top to the bottom and then into the elegant base.
Turned by hand, this design is a great test of skill. Being able to accurately repeat a pattern with precise dimensions is a challenge. Concentration is needed, but so is a relaxed atmosphere to allow the elements to be shaped into existence without error.
A choice of two woods are available:
Poplar - for those that wish to add their own finish, whether that is paint or something else.
Sycamore - A creamy white wood which feels silky smooth and allows the design to talk for itself, finished with an oil and wax finish for a luxurious soft sheen.
Onced turned, the lamps are wired up with an inline switch and then tested to make sure they are safe for use. A baize disc on the bottom is the final stage of construction, for a soft touch to any surface the lamp might sit on.
A wide variety of cable colours are available upon request along with variations of bub holder, switch and plug.
I try to keep at least one of these in stock, but they can also be backordered.
